WAVE Tartu Intensive Programme

About WAVE

WAVE is a cooperation of seven universities and three NGO-partners. In addition, all universities will build up a collaboration with their local communities on water areas in the form of WAVE Living Labs. The WAVE programme aims at involving an interdisciplinary audience of students as agents of transformative change for the benefits of the local water landscapes.

Discover Tartu

Art and nature connecting people.

Tartu is a pleasant place for the people living inside it. With the Emajogi running across the centre, it gives a more special identity to this place. The concept is about using art and urban nature to create a powerful bond between the people and the city. In the same time, we want to develop a better connection between the centre and the periphery including the Ropka-Ihaste Nature Reserve.

The programs were developed based on the interviews with the locals around the river. As an output of the interview, main problems, needs and likings of the people identified.

Later on with the printed posters, a final exhibition took place in the deck of NAIVV (a floating bistro). The locals could have a look and interact with the posters through writing or via scanning the qr code which directs to the survey about interventions.
