As part of the “Advanced Presentation Graphics” course coordinated by Jekaterina Balicka, Anna Wilczynska, Tartu 2024 European Capital of Culture Arts of Survival booklet was taken reference for the individual poster work.
Anthropogenic global warming – has effectively turned our own present into an urgent global dystopia. From this perspective, the mere idea that humans as a species is still there a hundred years from now can itself be considered is already utopian. Resolving the climate crisis also entails tackling the problem of artistic representation that shapes the collective global imaginary. Ecotopia is intended to be a festival where literary scholars, semioticians, philosophers, writers and artists discuss the arts of ecological survival.
